NATIONAL BIOMIMICRY WORKSHOP

Positioning SA for successful nature-inspired innovations and product development

22 September 201710:00 – 15:00

Venue: TBC, Cape Town

With special guest: JAY HARMAN, Pax Scientific

The Water Research Commission (WRC) recognises that investing in nature-inspired design R&D has the potential for developing sustainable solutions and innovations to current water challenges, with significant potential for enterprise stimulation as alternate catalyst for economic development. In this regard, the WRC, in partnership with DST and their research partners will host a national biomimicry workshop to share and showcase current nature-inspired research findings, and also discuss how SA can position itself for nature-inspired R&D targeting innovations and product development. The workshop will also be graced by Jay Harman (a naturalist, inventor and entrepreneur), as a motivational speaker from PAX Scientific who has successfully established and grown successful biomimicry companies that design innovative products.
